Kent is celebrating after Sustrans’ Connect2 campaign won £50 million of government cash to improve cycling facilities across the country in the People’s Lottery.
Sustrans’ ambitious scheme won the public TV vote that decided the outcome of the Big Lottery Fund's The People's £50 Million contest. Work on delivering the scheme starts in January 2008.

Earlier this year Kent was treated to a superb cycling spectacle when the world’s greatest cycle race, the Tour de France, visited London and Kent for the weekend of the Grand Depart
Forthcoming Events
Take part in the BHF’s Hearts First Viking Bike Ride on Sunday 12 October. It’s a beautiful, safe ride, mostly off-road, partly coastal, that all the family can enjoy. You can start at Reculver, Viking Ship or Joss Bay and choose the distance you ride.
Planning ahead? Go Cycle Kent is already starting to list rides lined up for the year. The Castle Bike Ride is bound to be a favourite once again.
Need to get fit? Then look ahead to the Circuit of Kent Cyclo Sportive in September and start training now!
Riding the Tour is clearly not even a realistic dream for most of us, but we can all get out and about in the Kent countryside and enjoy being on two wheels.
